The Clinical Health Research Unit

South Africa is at the epicentre of the HIV and Tuberculosis (TB) epidemics. The Clinical Health Research Unit (CHRU) undertakes clinical research to prevent and treat infectious diseases such as HIV, HIV-associated diseases, Tuberculosis (TB), HPV and Hepatitis B and C, and COVID-19. At CHRU, dedicated scientists and clinicians test the safety and efficacy of treatments, understand viruses, and improve the lives of those affected.
